Edwina the Emu

Though I never came across with this children story before, but I think I love the story once the story told to me.
My first impression on the story was it must be about the emu who lived in the zoo and she would face few problems with the other animals in the zoo,
but surprisingly, it was about a pair of emu, Edwina and Edwin who madly in love and live so happily until Edwina laid her eggs. I love this part of the
story where it seriously resembled issues faced by human when planning to start  a family which is who is going to be the provider.

Edwina and Edwin also in the same dilemma and Edwina broke the tradition by taking the responsibility of being the provider. She went to the town,
looking for a job but then she realised that her real "job" is to look after her eggs and let her husband be the provider. Subtly, this story teach
children the role of gender in society in an interesting way. Children will learn the roles of boys and the roles of girls in their life.

Children always concern about their roles and keep on asking why boys can do this but girls are not allowed to and vice versa.
We need to be creative when dealing with children because they are so fragile and requires an extra care in filling them with useful
knowldge for future use.
