Movie Review - Akeela and the bee

For entertainment aspect this movie is quite interesting because the title suggests something fun and viewers might be wondering is the bee is a bee or something else and it is quite impossible for the viewers to have it in mind the bee is actually the spelling bee.

This story pretty much concerns about English and how Dr. Larabee manages to help Akeela in her spelling bee competition with Akeela's negative attitude shown at the beginning of the story. As a teacher to Akeela, Dr. Larabee is determined to help Akeela with everything he would come out with and the determination is what I need to keep me focus to finish my course. I wish I have a teacher like Dr. Larabee during my school time, because I really suck in English subject and there was a time I really hate English as much as I hate people who smoking! But still I have to thank all my teachers who taught me English because eventually, they managed to change my perception on English and to get me to the ground where I stand today. What happened in the story will definitely face by me when I teach in school in the future. The main lesson that could be gathered by me would be no matter who we are, we are still eligible to be a successful person one day.

Most remembered childhood story

Piglet And The Dark

When I was told that we have to tell a childhood story to the class, this story suddenly struck in my mind. I remembered how I asked my mom to buy this book
for me. This story taught me not to say no until we have tried to do something that we are afraid of. Like the main character in the story,
Piglet who afraid of the night and refuse to go out during the night time. Her concern friends tried to help her to overcome the fright
by taking her out during the night and showing her a star formation that looked exactly like Piglet. Since then she is not afraid of the
dark anymore because there is some one is looking after her.

One interesting element used in this story is the author used cute animals as the characters to attract children attention to
read the book. The author portrayed the characters just like the children themselves, they were very playful and love to spend time with their friends.
This story advocates the friendship value that should be taught to the children in early age and for that reason I think this book is suitable
for the children to read.

The Gruffalo

I'm so amused by this story! How brilliantly a tiny mouse outsmarted other animals which were hundred times bigger than him by using
only his brilliant brain and not his strength. The story line was created so wonderfully with all elements of children story in it.
I wish i could write a piece like Graffallo one day! It is amazing that the writer could think of something like this and how subtly
the writer embedded the lesson for the children. Just like the tiny mouse, children also have to go through all sort of challenges in
life and they have to be smart just to avoid from being a victim. Children need to be thought about the real life but they are too
young to understand a single thing about life, through stories, fables, and myths, we could help them to reveal the definition
of life layer by layer, just to make them aware of what to expect in future.

Edwina the Emu

Though I never came across with this children story before, but I think I love the story once the story told to me.
My first impression on the story was it must be about the emu who lived in the zoo and she would face few problems with the other animals in the zoo,
but surprisingly, it was about a pair of emu, Edwina and Edwin who madly in love and live so happily until Edwina laid her eggs. I love this part of the
story where it seriously resembled issues faced by human when planning to start  a family which is who is going to be the provider.

Edwina and Edwin also in the same dilemma and Edwina broke the tradition by taking the responsibility of being the provider. She went to the town,
looking for a job but then she realised that her real "job" is to look after her eggs and let her husband be the provider. Subtly, this story teach
children the role of gender in society in an interesting way. Children will learn the roles of boys and the roles of girls in their life.

Children always concern about their roles and keep on asking why boys can do this but girls are not allowed to and vice versa.
We need to be creative when dealing with children because they are so fragile and requires an extra care in filling them with useful
knowldge for future use.
